Small diameter water ski handles
  • We are a believer in smaller diameter handles, which usually provide a more comfortable grip. With a smaller diameter handle, you do not need to wrap your hand completely around the handle, and "squeeze" the handle.
  • We carry *1.00” .970” .940” ........ (.900, and .920 by special order, minimum 10 per size)

  • Smaller diameter handles are a logical choice for almost every skier, although some skiers are reluctant to try one, because for years, the larger diameters have been the only size available.
  • Using a smaller diameter handle will usually provide a more secure grip, while still allowing the hand to be slightly open in the turn, when the arm is fully extended.
  • This provides a more relaxed approach to slalom, improving technique, by allowing the pull from the boat to be properly transferred to the triceps, shoulders, and upper back, rather than the forearm.
  • A smaller handle will reduce fatigue, reducing stress on the forearm, and can eliminate severe tendonitis in the elbow.

Quality ski handles
  • Many skiers like to use a basic round 1” cap, so that their rope is exposed. Keeping an eye on the exposed rope seems to be popular among many skiers who have had handles break, and in some cases, with severe injury.
  • However, this is not where the focus should be. Ropes usually break because because the grommets placed in the end of the handles are not installed properly, which results in a sharp burr.

Over time, this burr cuts through the rope. However, this slow process of cutting of the rope fibers will be hidden under the rope, and will not be visible on the outside.

SPRAY LINES only uses top quality handles, and each grommet is carefully inspected before stringing the handle, eliminating this problem.

  • We highly recommend the use of a 4” or 11” enclosed style end cap, which covers the rope and affords it maximum protection. Leaving your rope exposed only creates a new problem, it does not prevent one. Any time rope is exposed to the elements it will wear faster.
  • Also available as a custom option is a 16”section of clear PVC tubing which can be added to the main body of the handle bridle, to protect against sharp edged skis when doing deepwater starts.
